Pedestrian
Friendly Alameda (PFA) is dedicated to making our community

seek to enhance our walking environment and remove
barriers that restrict our ability to walk comfortably.

Walking connects
people to their surroundings: the sights, sounds, smells and
opportunities to meet neighbors develop a feeling of pride
and ownership. People who feel connected to their community
are less likely to damage it. |

With adult and childhood obesity increasing rapidly,
the Alameda Collaborative for Children, Youth and Their
Families (ACCYF), in partnership with Pedestrian Friendly
Alameda, is taking a step in the right
direction by sponsoring Alameda Walks!, beginning on Saturday,
May
2, 2009! Click

Pedestrian Friendly Alameda collaborated
with BikeAlameda and the Alameda Police Department to write
a monthly article called "Let's Walk & Roll" for
